The list of members to be included in the printed Membership Directory is compiled on March 1 of each year. This is the same day when all members who have failed to renew their membership are dropped from the roster of active members. If you join or renew after March 1 you will not be included in the printed Membership Directory, which is mailed to members in the middle of June.
All active members are listed in the AASM Online Membership Directory which can be found in the Members-Only section of the AASM website. To update your listing contact the Membership Department at 630-737-9700 or AASMmembership@aasmnet.org.

Send an e-mail to the membership department with your full name and you will receive an e-mail reply with your login information.
You can also click the "Forgot Login?" link to enter in your personal information (username, member number or e-mail with last name) and the AASM will send your login information to the primary e-mail address listed in your membership account.

Yes. The journals will be delivered to the address that you update in your AASM Member Account. Changes of address should be submitted four weeks in advance of the change to ensure uninterrupted service. Send your current mailing label (showing old address), along with your new address and the effective date of change. If you miss an issue because of the address change, the APSS cannot accept a claim for the missing issue.

You should first verify that the AASM has your correct mailing address. Visit the AASM website and enter your login information. Select “My Account” and verify that your address is correct.
Claims for replacement of missing or damaged issues can no longer be processed. If you did not receive an issue of SLEEP or received a damaged copy, contact your local post office. Contact us at (630) 737-9790 or subscriptions@aasmnet.org to verify the address to which your copy was sent.

Section membership is a free benefit for all AASM members. You can join any or all of the eight membership sections. You may vote and hold office, however, in only one section that you designate as your primary section affiliation. To join a section simply log in on the AASM website, select the “My Account” link, and select “edit” next to your section affiliation.

You can find your member number in these places: on the membership card that was mailed to you when you first joined, on your renewal invoice, and on the “My Account” screen when you log in to the Members Only section of the AASM website.

No. Center and individual memberships are different and require separate applications, and both categories of membership have their own unique benefits. Membership in one category does not mean you are considered a member of another category.

You will need a letter from your dean or supervisor that is printed on school or sleep disorders center letterhead, verifying your status as a student. Fax or mail this letter to the AASM with you membership application. If you apply online, you will need to fax or mail the letter to the AASM within two weeks of your application date.
