SLEEP MEDICINE – PORTLAND, MAINE
Chest Medicine Associates is a well-established, respected, and progressive 14 physician private practice in Portland, Maine. We are home to the Maine Sleep Center, a busy AASM-accredited facility. We seek a fellowship-trained sleep medicine physician to join our three other sleep specialists and expand our sleep medicine services. A background and interest in pulmonary and critical care is desirable, but candidates with other backgrounds will be considered.
In addition to our primary sleep practice, our sleep physicians provide services regionally for several other facilities. Our practice also provides regional expertise in critical care, pulmonary hypertension, cystic fibrosis, and lung cancer diagnosis. We offer a collegial and intellectually stimulating environment with opportunity for individual professional development. We have a strong relationship with Maine Medical Center, the state’s largest tertiary care and teaching hospital, to provide 24/7 pulmonary, medical and neurological critical care services. Our physicians are engaged in teaching in the pulmonary/critical care fellowship, internal medicine and emergency medicine residency programs. Several of our physicians are active in hospital- and office-based clinical research. In addition to the sleep center, our office has a pulmonary function laboratory and ultrasound.
Enjoy life situated on Maine's southern coastline. Portland, Maine has been voted one of the nation’s top 10 “happiest seaside towns” in a contest by Coastal Living. The region is well-known for its excellent school systems, safe communities, lifestyle, arts, exceptional culinary experiences, and abundant four season recreational opportunities in the nearby ocean, lakes, trails, and mountains.
Fellowship training in sleep medicine is preferred, and candidates must be BE/BC in sleep medicine. An interest in programmatic development and outpatient clinical research would be welcome.
